Eleanor Hope Sobczyk
Eleanor is a senior pursuing a BA in Theatre & Drama and a BS in Arts Management. She started her college career as an actor, appearing in numerous UP productions, including 10 Out of 12 (The Director), The Wolves (#7), Punk Rock (Cissy), and Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Sagot). She has also been seen on IU's mainstage in Vinegar Tom (Goody) and The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui (Givola). During her sophomore year, she developed a love for theatre administration and joined the UP Board of Directors as Managing Director. Her junior year, she took over as Artistic Director and has remained in the position since. She has also directed two shows for UP, Stage Kiss by Sarah Ruhl and She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen. She is grateful to UP for giving her the opportunity to integrate and continuously pursue all three of her passions, acting, directing, and administration. During the summers, she pursues her interest in theatre education as a teaching artist at Round House Theatre. Eleanor is from Washington, DC.
